Christian Educators Member Service Center: Where Every Call Begins with Prayer
By Amber Mathew and Diane Lester, Christian Educators Member Services Coordinators

Our Member Service Coordinators connect daily with educators across the country who are navigating the complex realities of today’s schools—cultural pressures, personal hardship, workplace conflict, or exhaustion. Many who call our Member Service Center simply need reassurance that they are not alone. Before offering resources, connecting members with a consultant, and creating an action plan, our coordinators bring each concern before the Lord in prayer. In these moments, their support becomes a lifeline, reminding educators that God sees them, carries their burdens, and meets them with compassion.

Here is what our Member Service Coordinators have to say:

When members call in, we listen to their situations, empathize with their pain or frustration, and bring it all before the Lord in prayer. Feeling the weight of what each person is going through has helped me be more and more in awe of God and how He carries the weight of all of our situations. He cries with us, holds us, and comforts us. He has called us to comfort others as He has comforted us (2 Cor 1:4).

We have an instant bond with someone who is a fellow believer because we have the most important thing in common—a relationship with Jesus. I experience that often, getting to talk with members (brothers and sisters in Christ) across the country. It is very special.

I recently prayed with an educator who was discouraged about the LGBTQ ideology being pushed through trainings. There is nothing like the feeling of knowing that I was able to be part of encouraging an educator who was considering leaving the profession. Being able to remind another educator of the hope we have in Christ is priceless.

I am so blessed to be used by God as an encourager to educators who are out there making a difference in the lives of their students. Please don’t hesitate to call and ask for prayer. It is our honor and privilege to serve you.

______________

As member services coordinators, we rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us in ministering to those who call, email, or come in person for prayer support. I love my role because it allows me to connect with people whom I may never meet face-to-face on this side of Heaven.

I recently prayed with a member who had been physically injured by a student to the point that she was unable to work for a lengthy period of time. As I prayed for her, I felt led to pray for the student who had injured her, too. When I concluded the prayer time, she thanked me for praying for the student because she knew what he did was not in character for him, and he needed prayer. I could hear the grace and compassion in her voice.

Praying for our members truly makes this big world feel small and reminds me that the body of Christ really is a family—a big, beautiful family of which I am grateful to be a part. And when a family member is going through something hard, they need us to stand in the gap and hold them up in prayer. So, if you are facing a challenging situation at home or at work, or if you simply need a little encouragement, please give us a call. We would love to pray for you; you don’t have to pray alone. God created us to be a part of a community. Whether we pray together in person, over the phone, or via email, He is there in our midst.
